Greene High School Announces Top 3 Seniors of the Class of 2024

Greene Central High School proudly announces its Valedictorian, Salutatorian and Superintendent’s Award recipients for the graduating Class of 2024.  It is with immense pleasure that the high school recognizes Alexander Dennis Boel as its Valedictorian, Tatianna Grace Wells as its Salutatorian and Jonathan David Westcott as its Superintendent’s Award recipient for the 2024 senior class.
 
 
Alexander Dennis Boel, son of Amanda and Stephen Boel, is the Valedictorian of the Class of 2024. Alexander has been involved in many school activities as well as in the community. He currently serves as president of the National Honor Society, vice president of Student Council, Academic Challenge team captain, and secretary of Interact. Alex has also played varsity soccer for three years and varsity tennis for four years. In addition, he works as a lifeguard for JRC summer camp and the community pool. Later this year, Alex will be attending Liberty University and studying biomedical sciences on a pre-med track.
 
  
Tatianna Grace Wells, daughter of Marcia and Todd Wells, is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2024. Tatianna has been involved in many activities at school and in the community. She is the vice president of Yearbook club, the secretary of National Business Honor Society, and a member of National Honor Society and Academic Challenge. She also played on the field hockey and softball teams. Additionally, she has been a part of the youth group at her church for seven years and she has served in the kid's ministry at her church for six years. In the fall, Tatianna plans on attending the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to study marine biology. 
 
  
 
Jonathan David Westcott, son of DeJuan Chen and Robert Westcott, is the Superintendent’s Award recipient for the Class of 2024. Jonathan has explored activities not only in Greene, but outside of Greene as well. He is currently the president of Student Council and was team captain for the swim team in his senior year. Some of his favorite accomplishments include: the Seal of Civic Readiness and the Seal of Biliteracy. Some of his favorite activities include PTO Spanish assistant teaching and Lenguas club, which is an online Spanish club where he taught English and learned Spanish with Colombians. Jon has also played varsity soccer for two years during the winter, spring, and fall seasons. He has been on the swim team for three years. In the fall of 2024, he will be attending Harvard College, majoring in romance languages and literatures / sociology.
 
 
 Congratulations to Alexander, Tatianna and Jonathan.  We salute your achievements.
Graduation ceremonies will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the high school gymnasium.
